FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I contact my people?

We encourage everyone to visit facebook.com/groups/MetalJamNetwork to make contact with the musicians in your group. It's the best way for everyone to communicate openly. We will not give out personal contact information unless you've given us permission to do so for the sole purpose of attempting to connect you with someone in your group.

What if one or more players in my song don't show up?

With the giant pool of awesome talent that attend the show year after year, there shouldn't be any problem finding replacements if any are needed.

To whom do I submit donations?

Donations can be made at the sign-in desk at the show. If you're interested in being a sponsor, you can contact Cindy Spaulding at cindyrox2112@gmail.com. If you have items for the raffle, just bring them with you. Any and all donations are much appreciated.

To whom do I make checks or money orders payable?

Checks and money orders should be made out to "THE CENTER FOR AUTISM & NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS".

What time do I check in?

Check-in is at 4:00 pm on the patio at Gaslamp. ALL participants must be there at that time.

It's important that you check in no later than 4:00 pm. If you know in advance that you can't make the check-in time, please message Jeff Fahnestock on Facebook (facebook.com/jeff.fahnestock.3) and let him know what time you'll be arriving so we can adjust accordingly.

Can I store my gear inside the venue during the show?

No. The venue does not have room to store your guitar or bass. You may either leave it in your car until Junkman calls out your song (which he'll be doing right before the song that's ahead of your song), or you may keep it on your person in a guitar backpack. Please be mindful that it doesn't obstruct anyone's view.

Will there be tuners and a place to tune up?

Yes and yes, but feel free to bring your tuner with you.

How can I arrange a practice before the shows?

Please join our networking group at Facebook.com/groups/MetalJamNetwork and post a request there. You can then arrange a practice with the members of your group. If you get assigned a song, please check the Facebook group daily to check for messages from your band members.

Is this an all-ages show?

Yes. Metal Jam is open for all ages the entire night.

Is there a cover charge?

$15 tickets are available exclusively through Gaslamp at gaslamptix.com, or you may pay a $15 cover at the door. Those with tickets will receive priority entrance. All proceeds from admission, merch and raffle tickets go to THE CENTER FOR AUTISM & NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS.

Admission for participants, whether musical or volunteer is $5 and payable on the day of the show at sign-in.

How do I sign up?

Go to the "Sign Up Now" page. You will find all the information you need there.

As a participant, what do I bring?

Guitarists and bassists - Only your guitars and basses... and picks, if you use them. We have cables.
Drummers - Just your sticks. And please take it easy on the kit. It's not a rental car.
Vocalists - Just your voice and a smile.
Keyboardists - Whatever you want to use, Andy and Julie. LOL

Can I bring effects pedals?

No. We really don't have time to hook them up and find sounds. Please leave the pedals at home.
