Frequently Asked Questions
How do I contact my people?
We encourage everyone to go to the forums to make contact with the musicians in your group. It's the best way for everyone to communicate openly. We can't and don't give out personal contact information.
Is the rehearsal party manditory to participation?
No. However, we do encourage all of our participants to attend because it gives everyone a chance to run through their songs and find "the bugs" before the actual show. Besides, the rehearsal parties have proven to be every bit as much fun as the show itself.
What if my people don't show up to the rehearsal or the main show?
We've rarely had a problem with people not showing up to the main show without prior contact. Last year, we only had one "no-call-no-show". If someone should contact us informing us that he or she will not be able to attend, we can find substitutes. We always have. The people in that group will be contacted about any changes. In the past, we've had people drop out of the show because one or more people in their group didn't show up to the rehearsal party. Please don't panic if this happens. As I said before, it's very rare that someone will sign up for a song and simply not be there. Also, this year we're enlisting a few "understudies" and gearing the song list for a smoother show.
To whom do I submit donations?
Donations can be made at the sign-in desk at either show. If you're interested in being a sponsor, you can contact Erinn Soule at erinsoule1@sbcglobal.net. If you have items for the raffle, just bring them with you. Any and all donations are much appreciated.
To whom do I make checks payable?
Checks should be made out to "Autism Speaks".
What time do I check in?
Rehearsal party: 7:00 pm | Main event: 7:00 pm
It's important that you check in no later than these times. If you know well enough in advance that you can't make the check-in time, please contact us and let us know what time you'll be arriving so we can adjust accordingly.
Will there be tuners and a place to tune up?
Yes and yes, but feel free to bring your tuner with you.
How can I arrange a practice before the shows?
Once the song list is finalized, we will create individual threads on the forums for each song. You can then arrange a practice with the members of your group.
How much are the t-shirts this year?
We know times are tight nowadays, so the prices on shirts this year will be lowered to $15.
Is there a cover charge?
Yes... we'll post as soon as we know what it is. Shouldn't be more than $10. There will be no participation fee this year.
If I don't get my song or alternates, am I just S.O.L.?
No. Last year we managed to find a place for everyone. However, keep checking back often to find out when sign-ups begin. Official sign-ups are first come first served. We usually have 70-80 percent of the list filled on the first day, so be sure to make plans to be at your computer on the day and time they begin. While we are taking steps to make sure even the late-comers get a spot, the best way to "get your song" is to submit your request on that first day. All submissions are noted and anyone unable to get onto the list will be contacted and we'll work something out to get you on the show.
Can I get the e-mail addresses of the people in my group?
We can't and don't give out anyone's e-mail addresses. We've set up our own forums for the purposes of participant communication. We encourage everyone to use them.
As a participant, what do I bring?
Guitarists and bassists - Only your guitars and basses...and picks, if you use them. We have cords.
Drummers - Just your sticks. And please take it easy on the kit. It's not a rental car.
Vocalists - Just your voice and a smile.
Keyboardists - Whatever you want to use, Andy. Hahahaha
Can I bring effects pedals?
No. We really don't have time to hook them up and find sounds. Leave the pedals at home.
What equipment is being used for the backline?
Info to come
